Ussal Kalyoncu Smithers is a set decorator based in the South East of England, originally from Istanbul, with over 24 years of experience across television drama and feature films.

Her work includes Peaky Blinders (Series 1 and 2), both nominated for BAFTA Craft Awards for Production Design, as well as the RTS award-winning The Crimson Petal and the White. Her work on Guerrilla was put forward for Emmy consideration.

She won the BFDG Award for Gentleman Jack and was a finalist for A Gentleman in Moscow.

Ussal has worked internationally across the Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Germany, Iceland, Turkey and Guadeloupe, and is fluent in English and Turkish.
